Title: Western Canary Islands Chiffchaff
Post by: mvrh on October 23, 2012, 06:19:29 am
Hello,

After being a daily lurker for a few years I registered myself as an user.

First up is the Western Canary Islands Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus canariensis canariensis). This subspecies of the Chiffchaff is common only on the Canary Islands (Spain). I took these shots some weeks ago.

A lot of us might have passed by this species because it seems too dull, but these are very engaging pictures.

Thank you all for the nice comments and welcome.

I shot one more image of those little guys, some minutes after the second.

Sometimes I like the out-takes too! After all, birds blink, scratch, preen, yawn, stretch, etc.

I like the second shot...I think if your going to shot brides close up you absolutely have to get the focus pin sharp which it isn't in the first but is pretty dam good in the second.
