Title: Lomography Belair X 6-12
Post by: Brian Hirschfeld on October 20, 2012, 01:31:58 am
wow Lomography actually made a camera I want to buy and try. I mean why not when you look at the price and the focal lengths it covers. I would be interested to see if I could manage to get a higher quality lens into it. Might be fun to try out.... any takers other then me lol?

then again I want an Aero-Ektar/Wista 4x5 RF and Littman Single 45 so maybe I am just crazy.

I have an Aero-Ektar 600mm 24", and a Wray 900mm 36" f6.3

The Wray is telephoto... to make it fit the fuselage of a spitfire.

You probably want an aero ektar and graflex combo since it has the focal plane shutter you need to make it work.   I have two Alpenhause cameras which are polaroid 110b conversions like the Littman and they are great fun to shoot.  I use them all the time now.  The really sad thing is the loss of the 4x5 pack film, but for now we can still buy 4x5 sheet film.

I saw that lomography 6=12 and was quite happily surprised.  Looks like something useful and fun and also very inexpensive as well.  I might pick one up myself.

Looks lovely, and 612!!!

...but sample images indicate far from sharp lenses, not easy fix... would need both lens and helical :(

         ...or any wider ideas. ???

been there, done that and sold it. For me it was a one trick pony on a speed graphic.

The Lomo is a Lomo Anders. It's about photographic fun, not sharpness. Indeed, they have a special sensor that, if you utter the word "Nyquist" within earshot of them, they spontaneously explode.

ps. can't decide btw black and plastic snake skin ;D

Just wandering whether anybody bought into the Belair and what the experience has been so far.

I've heard it's fresh.
