I'll never forget the first one I ever saw -- and heard -- hiking many years ago in a remote part of New Brunswick, having come upon a small lake. I heard that eerie call and had no idea what it could be or where it was coming from, until I finally spotted the loon far out on the lake.

Every time I see ot hear one of these again I get the same thrill. Thanks for sharing this beautiful shot.

Simply reflection from the eye of the bird!
