Another Place? (http://www.flickr.com/photos/alunallcock/8036151918/) by Alun Allcock (http://www.flickr.com/people/alunallcock/), on Flickr
This was taken at dawn in San Gimignano, Italy.
I was suprised and delighted to find that there was an "exhibition" of a British sculptor Antony Gormley's work taking place around the village. He is renowned for his "metal men" and his placements of his art in odd places. His most famous work is probably the Angel of the North which looms over the A1 road into the North East of England. But one of my favourite pieces is called Another Place and is not far from where I live on Crosby Beach, Liverpool. It consists of 100 of these metal men dotted about the beach over many kilometres which get submerged by the tides twice a day.

Uncommon but I like it. Thanks for the info about Antony Gormley's work.

Thank you Francois. If by "uncommon" you mean different and not a cliche then I'll take that compliment all day! ;D
