Title: Printer size and print accuracy.
Post by: enduser on September 06, 2012, 09:06:58 am
I've often wondered whether as printer widths increase does the image quality decrease in any measurable way?  One might think that as belts and carriage parts get longer is there an equivalent drop in quality due to sag, stretch or similar factors.

What made me think of this was a recent review of a 13 inch printer where the reviewer stated that iq was better than the same company's recent large format machines.

See that in relation to the viewer's distance of small and large prints and what printing time it would take on a wide format to lay down enough 1.5 picoliter droplets for a 10 square feet print compared to the 3.5 or 4 picoliter minimum droplets normally used in highest resolution settings. That said the dot formation and placement of the 3.5 or 4 picoliter droplet should be better on wide formats so compensates more or less what is described above.
