Title: Anyone have or have used a Studio Canvas Master? (By GAPP Engineering)
Post by: darlingm on August 09, 2012, 08:45:58 pm
The Studio Canvas Master handles up to 48" canvas, and is made by GAPP Engineering - the company that also makes the pneumatic Canvas Stretch Master.  You can see a video of it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlAeBpWahPQ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlAeBpWahPQ)

Can't find anyone on forums saying they have one, or what they think of it!

It's about $1,530 USD, shipped from the manufacturer in Ireland.

I'd love the pneumatic Canvas Stretch Master, but it's out of budget for now.  So is the 60" Gallery Stretcher (AKA Canvas Stretching Machine.)

Just wondering if anyone has one of these or has used one, and can comment on it.  It appears you can complete a canvas in under 3 minutes.  It isn't automatic, of course, but it's at a much lower cost.  It looks decent from the videos, but would hate to purchase it and find there's a bunch of issues using it.  I really love being able to staple while seeing the back, unlike so many other models.

(BTW if anyone has one they aren't using, and wouldn't mind selling, I'm interested in it.)

P.S. See this other video to upset yourself.  Fully automated machine that looks like it's built like a tank and does everything itself in 27 seconds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30DLyWeMalc (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30DLyWeMalc) -- Haven't even gotten a response from the manufacturer about cost, but it's certainly out of budget.   :o

I'm interested in one of these, too.
