Title: Photoshop CS6 activations
Post by: walter.sk on July 07, 2012, 02:14:47 pm
If I do a reinstall of CS6 over an existing installation, because of what I think is a corrupted version, would I end up having to re-activate it, thus costing me one of the activations?

And what about an uninstall/reinstall?

I wouldn't recommend installing "over the top" if you think something is corrupted - you can't know for sure that you'll overwrite whatever is corrupted.

I'd suggest uninstalling and then reinstalling.  During the uninstallation process it will deactivate (which gives you an activation back to use).  If you really, really want to install over the top then you can just fire it up (if it's at least running) and choose to deactivate.

If any of that fails, you can contact Adobe and let them know what's happened and they can manually deactivate for you (if that installation was attempted to be run again it would fail at one of the "phone home" sessions - but that would be OK as you'd have done a fresh install).
