Title: Soft proofing in LR4
Post by: douvidl on June 28, 2012, 10:18:46 am
I've just finished the adobe tv show on Soft Proofing .  Very comprehensive and useful.  However I am left with a question.  At the beginning of the process you are asked to select the color space/profile of the final "output device".  Does that refer to the color space of the printer or the profile of the paper.  At the end of the process in the print section under color management you are asked to identify the profile of the paper. So my question is what is the final "output" device.
Seems redundant.
Thanks in advance for your efforts.

A colour space (sRGB, Adobe RGB and so on...) is selected if you are softproofing for a digital output under that space. For printing you should select the profile for the printer/paper combination that will be used, the same you will select when printing.

Best regards.
