Wonderfully dynamic image.
Some may criticise the relatively bland foreground but in this instance it serves as stark counterpoint for the atmospheric activity.
I really like the B+W rendering of this image - this allows one to really concentrate on the wonderful sky.

Stunning image with great compositional execution. Perfect balance between near, middle, and far planes. I particularly love the muted mountains beyond the rain or mist. Great touch with the slanted light rays. Good choice in black and white rendering although a strong image like this would also be effective in color. I enjoy the dark ridge line accentuated by the subtle tree texture. Lots to enjoy here, especially the swirling tornado-like shape curling up in the center. Wonderful!

Lovely photograph! Definitely one for "the wall" as I, like louoates see "lots to enjoy here". The rain is literally dancing across the sky. Although I agree with Tony about the foreground needing to be "bland" I think that (at least in this small digital version) it could stand to be a little less bland with slightly greater separation of tones. On a large print, there might just be enough separation but adding just a little more could help shape the contours of the land a little more.
If this were my image, I would likely crop it to a 4:3 or 4:5 ratio removing the "excess" along the right side. I love the bright clouds in the top right but I find my attention following the beautiful diagonal rays from the left, down to the bright point near the centre then jumping up to the top right to the clouds and out of the photo. Cropping off more of the right side may contain the dynamic. Also, it move the lower end of the diagonal rays and the small rounded hillock more off-centre. But you know what - these are minor and highly personal nuances.

Excellent...lovely scene rendered with good depth, the tonal range is good the veiled hills work very well indeed....superb atmosphere/emotion/feel.

"The rain is literally dancing across the sky" is gibberish.
He needs to get out more.
That doesn't seem to be anything more than a snide remark.

Beautiful movement in this image. I love the dark cloud at the top of the image...it really makes me feel like I am right in there and under the cloud.
Triangles in corners bother me a little..but in this image there are other lines which bring my eye back into the frame so it doesn't feel as truncated. Tones are lovely. Light area above the small mounded hill is like a spotlight on it. Diagonal lighter areas within the cloud leading toward a focal point. Beautiful.
