To all,
I wanted to inform officially, and not giving the impression of having disappeared: I will not longer be Alpa's consultant, nor here on the forum neither directly by email as suggested first.
Alpa has decided that they do not want any presence on the forums anymore, nor do they want or allow me to answer requests sent to me by email.
I will therefore not longer be on the forums with my "Alpa" signature as a consultant nor will I answer any question about their line of products.
I feel truly sorry for all who have sent me mails those last days with questions and requests. I also did not get any information where or to whom requests can be sent instead and I would suggest to contact your local dealer.
To all I wish the best,
Thierry

I think they are doing a BIG mistake...

This definitvely doesn't sound like anything official from Alpa but very much like a personal message. Strange kind of wording....
...... I also did not get any information where or to whom requests can be sent instead ......
I contact Alpa since 2004 direct and got every question answered immediately, never felt the need to use a public forum for business relevant questions.

Alpa and Omego ;)
All the best Thierry! (BTW: Q: Sinar has this thing...) ;D

Hi,
Sorry to hear. You always had good info.
Alpa may dig their grave...
Best regards
Erik

That's a strange decision by Alpa.. and a silly mistake in my opinion.
Good luck Thierry!

Having met Thierry in person, I'm sure it has nothing to do with him personally. It's probably due to something as mundane as shrinking budgets for publicity and service. A worrying signal from Alpa indeed.
Thierry, I wish you good luck and hope that new opportunities will present themselves soon (with Photokina ahead).
Cheers,
Bart

Thierry,
you should change your nick name to ThierryH as it was before. ;D
May be letter H will force you to the next level = Hasselblad? ;)

Sad news, indeed. Both for the forum and the company.

No doubt about that, but in my opinion that's even a strange decision in the face of shrinking budgets. I think the type of service Thierry provided was more valuable than the income growth from commercials. After all Alpa products aren't DSLRs..
Anyway, their loss (and one more reason to invest in Arca! ;) )

Thierry is a very capable expert in the field and I trust something will blow his way as his expertise merits.
Thierry I wish you all the success you deserve!
