Title: Olympus/Panasonic - typo
Post by: PierreVandevenne on June 06, 2012, 10:33:15 am
Small typo on the web site: the accounting scandal was 1.7 billion, not million. 1.7 million would have barely paid for a complimentary Phase One camera to Olympus board members ;-)

And now Panasonic president said it was all a rumor, and they have no intention in investing in Olympus. Now the question is, who ran the first news piece, since I hardly think Kyodo news agency is moved by unfounded rumors.
The funny think is that, as of now, Kyodo has not withdrawn his original statement, so... The Plot Thickens...

Yes, the question is what is really going on. A company, and especially a Japanese company, denying news reports hasn't much meaning to me. We'll have to wait a while to see what really develops. Considering Olympus' recent history of repeated denials of true and accurate stories, perhaps we could just believe the opposite of whatever Olympus claims and they too are denying the reports.
