Kind of sad. While LaCie only assembles drives and doesn’t make the drive units, I’ve bought directly from them for many years and their customer service is first rate. After Seagate takes over, I predict they’ll close the Hillsboro location and customer service will become non-existent.

I strongly agree with Justan.  My experience with LaCir / Hillsborough has been excellent.  I would never buy any other outboard hard drive based on their service.
