Title: The Walker Evans quote
Post by: John Camp on May 19, 2012, 11:59:35 pm
Perhaps it's time to find a new inspirational quote to replace the Walker Evans "Stare" quote on the opening page. Much as I like the man's work, I've now seen that quote almost daily for the past several months, and I believe I've extracted as much from it as I'm likely to do. Perhaps we could start a new quote contest?

Funnily enough I thought exactly the same thing yesterday.  There must be a huge store of interesting quotes available for photography - it would be good if there was an archive page for them though.

Sadly, what you die knowing is probably not what you wanted to know.

Wish it hadn't been; I enjoyed saying a frequent hello to the original one and it offered some sort of internal comfort that the new one can't. There's enough sci-fi in life already...

Proving you can't please all of the people all of the time.

I'll probably change it every now and then so that I annoy everyone equally.

Now that seems fair enough to me!
