Title: Another Texas Wildflower thread
Post by: natas on April 30, 2012, 11:23:10 am
I live in the Dallas area so our go to place for Bluebonnets is Ennis, Texas. Since the wife and I had a baby 7 weeks ago my time out here was minimal. I made 2 trips and only snapped shots on the first trip (trip 2 was a bust, horrible sunset).

I brought out the mamiya rz67 proii with Ektar film and the Pentax 645D. This particular spot is a field that the locals call "Field of Dreams" during this time of year.  Walking out of the car was a experience in itself. The smell of the bluebonnets was overwhelming.

First shot using Ektar Film:

Second and Third shot on the Pentax 645D

I used two ND Grad filters for all the shots. Overall I am pleased with my results. The third is my favorite shot. I have already sold 3 prints which makes me smile :)

i also shot some velvia but it turned out way underexposed so I was pretty disappointed.
