While I’m not typically a fan of B&W, this works for me. My only minor criticism is that the boardwalk is a little too predominant. Perhaps a minor multiply filter on it would help.....or maybe not.

The light and textures of the grasses is a delight for the eye.

Very nice, Chris. The clouds are really good, just threatening enough to make us wonder what will happen as we walk down the boards and out of the picture.

Hi Chris
Lovely black and white and nice composition with great light. Personally I think the boardwalk should be predominant but I can't get much of a feel for the texture and tones of the grain etc. Maybe it's just because the image is resized and you actually have the tones but it just looks a bit flat to be.

Nice work

Unfortunately, this image like a lot of others on here, loses much in the translation/compression. I think this works against B&W more than color as in the printed version, the boardwalk is quite tonally rich in both value and texture.

I think, even for me, there is too much drama in four completely different aspects: the grass, the boardwalk, the trees and the sky with nothing other than the grasses and boardwalk really connected. I may go back and lessen the impact of the sky to see ho wthat may affect the overall look.
