Post by: aboudd on March 16, 2012, 10:42:39 am
Now posted on www.everything-foto.blogspot.com

This is the second installment of my review on the S2. This one covers the cameras controls and functions.

I like your site, I found the 120 Summarit to be one of the lenses I liked most, along with the 35mm Summarit. The 180mm was also exceptionally sharp. The 70mm was no slouch, but its supposed to be good since its the standard lens for this system like all others.

Btw what watch re you wearing in that picture about you? kinda looks like mine

Here are my thoughts on the Leica S2, http://brianhirschfeldphotography.com/2011/12/07/leica-store-mayfair-and-leica-s2-in-depth-review-2/

Hey, Brian:  Thanks for all the content to review on your site link.  I think the S2 is a great compromise system in the MF category: not too big, fine optics, and the of-a-piece design rather than segments to be fitted together, resulting in better sealing.  If or when you decide to expand your report or submit it to another forum or blog, take a couple of minutes and subject it to a spelling/grammar check to clean things up for a more professional presentation.  Meanwhile, a lot of us envy your time handling this iconic system.  Congratulations.

Hi Brian,

That's a Glycine True 24 watch I'm wearing. It's a 24 hour dial instead of 12. Confuses the hell out of people when they ask me what time it is and I show them the watch.

Glad you liked the S2 write up. My 35MM lens is due in another week. I'm still waiting for Leica to ship more 70MM lenses to the US.

Looks interesting, mines a Baume et Mercier Capeland flyback chronograph, looked the same from the side and strap.

I'm surprised they have a shortage of the "standard" lens

My timepiece is a classique "Homme qui marche" model by Sony et Ericsson.  In addition to telling the time, it can make phone calls, play MP3s/video clips/FM radio, take photos, and play games. :D
