Has anybody the Nec sensor?
I would like to know if it is locked and can only be used with the Spectraview software or if it is a "normal" OEM EODIS3 which can also be used with other software.

Try ArgyllCMS - DispcalGui, usually the most compatible with rebranded meters.

I do not have the sensor - so I want to know if it is possible or not.
(so I can decide what to buy - the Nec or the retail version)

I have a NEC branded sensor with Spectraview and it works fine with ArgyllCMS. You only have to load the ArgyllCMS driver to make it operational.

You really got the MDSVSENSOR3 working with the current version of argyllcms?!
That's interesting than Graeme Gill wrote me this: "The current version supports only the retail and calman OEM version, but the next release will also work with the NEC meter"

I tried Argyllcms 1.35 (latest release version) with the NEC sensor. It fails after a call to libusb_get_config_descriptor(). Looks like cannot talk to the NEC sensor without the appropriate unlock code. There may be a newer dev snapshot of Argyll that works with the NEC i1D3 puck, but I couldn't replicate Alan's success with the release version.

My bad! I misread the thread; I have the earlier NEC sensor not the one under question.
