Title: Another Panorama from Stump Pass
Post by: AJMorris on March 05, 2012, 02:13:07 pm
Here is another Panorama from stump pass beach. I waded out into waist deep water to try and get some detail on the stump in the center. if you look closely you can see a school of bait fish in the left front corner. Also to the left of the stump there are dark blobs in the water. Those are Snook for those who may be curious.

It's a very photogenic place!

My only niggle is that I'd like to have seen a little more sky, so that the tall tree to the right didn't look as if it was pressing up against the top of the frame. Have you considered cropping off some of the right-hand side (including that tree)? It seems to me to improve the shot, as I don't feel the bit of beach really adds anything.

Indeed i had thought about cropping it and i have an 8x10. For some reason i felt that the beach was necessary to show where the tree was in relation to it but looking back i dont know why it seemed so important to me. thanks for helping me see that. I would have liked more sky in the shot too but i was afraid if a rogue wave coming to destroy my gear! I should really get a waterproof case, i cant seem to stay out of it!

Yes I really like the color, and the contrast, and I do not miss the beach or the fish!
