Title: Hallgrímskirkja in midnight sun
Post by: Rajan Parrikar on January 14, 2012, 01:41:27 pm
Taken a little before midnight.  This is a tall structure, but the verticals are maintained nicely here via Canon's TS-E 17L lens.

Nicely done!  An iconic image of an iconic building.

Beautiful shot, Rajan. I was at the top of that around this time last year - freezing it was as I Recall. Icelandic light is truly beautiful when it wants to come out and play  :)

I never saw Hallgrímskirkja under the sun… but I love this straight photo. On my small iPhone display, without my glasses, I thought it was a Lego Rocket  ;)

I especially like how the little clouds add to the effect of enormous height.
