Title: Photo LA 2012, a Challenge in Styles
Post by: med007 on January 14, 2012, 05:34:51 am
If you are lucky enough to live in Los Angeles, the 21st Photo LA Exhibition is being held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium 12-16th January 2012. If someone wants to join me send a PM with your contact info. On my first trip, I found the spread of classical well known works and new artists. I spent some time looking at the work of a New York/ Shanghai artist and also a self-possessed Photographer, (mostly of herself), Trica Lawless Murray, whose honest work is somewhat painful to see, but worthy of your interest. I have reported that http://www.openphotographyforums.com/...ms/showthread.php?p=124895#post124895.

I'd be happy to have a local photographer join me in another visit as I'd love to learn of additional styles that others might pick as especially interesting. Just PM me and i'll reserve a space!

Asher

BTW, I have no connection with the show, just think it's worthy of a visit! :)

I still have openings to take someone and go to any special presentation. I've reported on two photographers. [url-http://www.openphotographyforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=124895#post124895]here[/url] so far and would like help in reporting on several more. The exhibit lasts until tomorrow, Monday Feb. 14th.

Link is fixed now, here (http://www.openphotographyforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=124895#post124895).

I have a whole lot more to post. Just need to unload my camera! This goes from Ansel Adams classical prints and modern platinum prints to scanned single line time sequence panoramas, Ilfochromes transmitting light through flowers, pictures softened by movement, work from Australia with pseudo 3D and circular panos and more. Since I am going back to the show this morning, it will take a little time to get things posted, but it's all in progress!

If you are in the area, don't miss the last day. If not, I hope my report will give a sense of what the Exhibition pulse was.
