Yep, it appears to be much faster according to Loyd Chambers. I just installed it but have not yet had time to test.
Total pain, the are asking for both Capture NX2 and Capture NX1 license keys to enable the upgrade. I have never seen this anywhere else.

True, and there is no warning about that. I could find my NX2 license, but not my NX 1. I think NX 1 was included free with my D300. I didn't bother very long, but just restored NX 2.8 from Time Machine backups. I haven't used it in years anyway. This sort of thing reminds of of the reason why I stopped using use Nikon software.
