I am user using H body + Phaseone Digiback.
I am thinking of upgrade body to H4X but I don't understand why H4X is compatible with any digiback except H4D?
Any technical reason?

Because my colleagues possess complexes and do not believe that their products are good. because they did the product who is open, but you can not normally buy it. From a technical point of view, the digital unit in your HxD needs electricity power from body. In the model H4x simply does not power unit's capabilities. DB other manufacturers are powered by external batteries

Thanks for the reply design_freak.
You mean H4X has no extra power for H4D back?

h4x has no power for H4d back. Simply there is no pins with power.

Please don't quote information which is incorrect. Remember, you no longer represent Hasselblad!
Kitty, The H4X has a different grip configuration. The H4D body has a specific ISO/WB button. The H4X does not as it has to work with 4rd party digital backs which do not offer the same level of integration as the H4D series.

Dear David,
It's open forum :D
you hide your complexes. As usual you answered the question intricately. Is not it true that there is no corresponding pin? So I renew my question: is the digital unit will work on H4x or not?

Hi Kitty,
Wanted to let you know we just completed testing of the H4x with PhaseOne, as have FotoCare in NYC and another Location in Miami - great results with the TruFocus technology and HCD lenses btw...
Is your question regarding the H4 digital magazine b/c you are considering adding the integrated system in addition to you PhaseOne digital magazine?
Otherwise, you are set and ready to go :)

John,
How do the images of the HCD 28 look without DAC lens corrections?
Thanks, Joris.
-
It always has to be so complicated with this darn company. ::)
-
The HCD 4/28 is a star but it is designed to be used in conjunction with the DAC lens corrections.
Enough said?
I understand that but John says he is getting great results?

JV, Kaplan - will process the shot with the H4x and the HCD 28mm and post on a new topic to address the technical data, but my initial reaction was wow! very cool to have wide angle HC with a non-Hasselblad back (didn't get to test film!) Would also be trick to shoot with the 35-90 Zoom, too.
Not sure if anyone has seen the 7-minute video posted by Alex Koloskov where he specifically tested for the benefits of TruFocus using the H4x with the P25+, but a quick Google search will get you to the right place.
So the net is if you want to shoot with the technology of the H4: 1.) bright LED autofocus assist 2.) TruFocus for camera movement retaining original plane of focus, and 3.) access two valuable focal length lenses, then you might want to get some demo time with the H4x. That's where the reality sets in...absent of opinion or argument.
Do you guys have a local Hassy dealer you can visit?

Thanks David and John for reply.
I have 2 Phaseone Back and 4 H bodies. Bodies are starting old and need repairing often.
So I plan to get new bodies and H4X seems to be a good choice (Great technology). I thought H bodies is one of the best.
In future if I get Hasselblad Digiback I would love to use these H4X with the new Hasselblad back.
So I don't have to buy extra bodies.
I heard that Hasselblad has trade-in progam H4X to H4D in one year.
But I am not ready to pay that much for now. And another 1 year there would be a new digiback. H4D may be out of date by then.
I also wondering H4X shutter life is better than H1/2?

Hi,
Both distortion and lateral chromatic aberration can be corrected with proper lens profiles in ACR/Lightroom and Adobe provides the tools to make such profiles.
Best regards
Erik
Without correction he'll be getting distorted results.
-
Or one can use the Alpa "Lens Corrector" tool, remarkable as well:
Alpa Lens Corrector (http://www.alpa.ch/en/products/tools/alpa-tools/alpa-lens-corrector.html)

Is it possible to upgrade H4x firmware to be compatible with H4D in future?

Kitty as mentioned above, the hardware configuration is different. Not just firmware.
Also every H4D is custom calibrated for focus accuracy. Mechanically and electronically.
That is not possible with separate parts from different manufacturers.

Thanks David for the reply.
I seems H4D has higher technology than H4X.
What is the shutter life actuation for H4X? Is it the same to H4d? Better than H1/2?
