Title: Why can't LR do this - or can it?
Post by: PeterAit on November 05, 2011, 04:42:27 pm
When I make the smallest change to a web gallery, such as adding one photo or correcting a misspelling in a caption, LR insists on regenerating and uploading the entire gallery, which can take some time. Any way around this?

It's no different from any other cataloging program that generates static HTML galleries. No way round it other than generating web pages on the server. Smugmug, Zenfolio, SlideShowPro's Director work this way, so you export to the service and your web pages are written in php and call images from the server. Change an image and you upload it alone.

If you know a good web programmer you can brake up your web site with links to files on your site and then you only need to update the files you are changing, a lot faster. You will need to use a upload program like FileZilla and export individual Files from LR to your hard drive instead of uploading from LR
