Title: Monitor utility desired
Post by: rasworth on August 14, 2011, 12:01:14 pm
Anybody know of a pc utility that enables one to measure white point luminosity/temperature/chromaticity on a display using an i1 Pro, while interactively adjusting monitor controls?

I can eventually get there with Measure Tool after a full calibration cycle, but I want something less invasive, i.e. only measures and does not dink with vcgt tags, etc.  The Display Uniformity tool in i1Profiler sort of does the job, but one has to constantly back-up and restart after making adjustments.

Again, I want to change brightness, contrast, rgb, etc. on the monitor while reading the white point information.  Don't need anything fancy, could be a command line program.  And of course it would be nice to have something similar for the Mac.

ArgyllCMS can do this but you need to carefully read the directions:  http://www.argyllcms.com/doc/dispcal.html#Adjustment

I had glanced at it briefly, noticed it had the capability in its display module.  However, does one have to disable any existing i1Pro drivers and enable theirs, or can they co-exist?

Added by edit - never mind, read thru the Argyll driver update instructions.
