Title: International usage
Post by: DeeJay on June 17, 2011, 12:03:37 pm
Hi there people,

Wondering what your thoughts are on this.

Just shot a campaign which they want to use internationally. Guidelines suggest 300% of the fee. Fine. But out of the 8 shots they only want to use 4. So would you then divide the 8 shots by 4 or would you just stick them with the full 300%?

I'm feeling that it should be halved as it's only half the shots.

Your thoughts?

Thanks,

The full 300.

I'd need to hear more details on your original agreement. Did your original paperwork state licensing of up to eight images or license eight images? That way, the Client cannot come back and ask for a reduced rate.

The usage is additional from the original agreement. It was an 8 image national campaign and now they want to run 4 images international. The original agreement has been fulfilled, paid and closed. They are asking for additional usage on 4 images to run international.

That's very different then.

You may renegociate the fee for international usage. It should be divided but IMO not based on the first agreement so even dividing it should comes close to the full porcentage.

I would negociate.
