Title: NEC monitors European and US models
Post by: Schwenny on May 26, 2011, 01:35:43 pm
I know that this subject comes up once in a while that the MultiSync models are different in Europe and the US. I have the 2690 SpectraView model bought in Europe that I'm running the US version software SpectraView II on. I'm now looking to upgrading to the 301 version. Here in Europe we both have MultiSync and SpectraView versions, big price difference. In the US there are as far as I understand only the MultiSync version, one with the software bundled. But is it otherwise the exact same monitor? Is the European MultiSync exactly the same as the US MultiSync? If I get the European MultiSync and run my US version SpectraView II software will that work exactly the same as in the US version of the monitor? So the SpectraView versions of the monitors aren't available in the US or are they just called something else? Apparently the SpectraView monitors concidering the higher price than the MultiSync are supposed to be better?

Can somebody please enlighten me? Will I be ok buying the European MultiSync and running the US version of Spectraview II software? Or should I pay a lot more for the SpectraView version.
