Title: Samsung SPF-1000 Photoframe
Post by: alangubbay on April 16, 2011, 07:08:57 am
I need a photoframe to use as a portable album and I do not need all the additional bells and whistles of the i-pad.  The Samsung model is one quarter of the Apple price, has a 10" display and an internal battery. It sounds ideal but one has to buy it on the web, unseen.  Does anyone have experience of this, particularly regarding picture quality?

I have recently ordered a frame from this company -- http://www.nix-digital.com/home -- but it hasn't arrived yet.  I was looking for the same thing for the same purpose.  I already have an 8-inch Sony with which I am very pleased.  However, the one I ordered from NIX is also battery operated, which makes it more portable.  I ordered a refurbished one from them for only $49.  They make larger sizes, but not all have the battery operation option.

That sounds good value but I need at least 10" with an internal battery.

This is also of interest to me. Can these frames be used in portrait ( as opposed to landscape ) orientation? The majority of the images I want to display are portrait.

Cheers

I notice that some from NIX have an "Auto Rotate Sensor" which should give you what you want.  Check out their web site, of course.
