Michael, When was the deadline? I have a Vietnam portfolio in for the current portfolio contest but I guess I missed the single issue contest.

The issue is due out the first week of March but they still haven't announced the winners. The also haven't updated the Color or B&W magazine websites in while.

I just noticed the subscription button has been removed from the website. But they just announced the 2011 Portfolio Contest.

The companion mag website, BandWmag.com still has the subscription button.
This may not be a good sign for Color mag.

I'm still waiting for the next glorious issue of Focus mag, which I invested a small ad in. It was going to be the December issue, then January, then March, and now the website simply refers to "our upcoming 20th issue."

I'm glad I'm not in the publishing business.

Well, I embraced my first copy of B&W with open arms and would have continued the hunt in the local kiosks into the future were it not for their Special Issues, which I eventually came to see as some tiny quantity of 'great' images packaged within much dross, the collected whole being marketed at exorbitant prices. It's only a magazine you're buying, for crissakes, not a book! But don't forget: it was originally presented (ho hum!) as being for Colllectors of fine photography, not as a fast route to them for humble photographers (as if)... though the quarter page ads allowed at the back were indeed offered as such. Janus syndrome, anyone?

Too little for too much for me.
