Title: 10D parameters
Post by: 61Dynamic on October 28, 2004, 03:28:34 am
The parameters will have no effect on the RAW file, however it will have an effect on the histogram readout on the back of the camera.

Set the parameters to Adobe RGB to get the largest color gamut for the preview so that it does not show you clipping when you aren't really clipping the histogram.

This may be a question that has been asked before and if it has I appologise as I can't find the thread.
What parameter settings shoudl I be using on my 10d?  I shoot raw most of the time and process in ACR (preview sharpen only)and photoshop.  I currenlty have everything set to 0 except sharpness which I have at -2 (sharpness switched off)

I then do my sharpening using Photokit Sharpner.  I usually have to apply a fair bit of sharpening though to get the image to where I want (capture sharpen, creative sharpen (luminance 2 and maybe some edge sharpen using a brush) and output sharpener).

What are peoples thoughts on theses settings, is it better to have a softer less colorfull image out of the camera or is it worth bumping up these setting a bit to start off?

Cheers,
