Does anyone know of a site where the direction of the sunlight at a given date and time is shown on Google maps? (I don't care about azimuth.)
Thanks

"The Photographers Emphemeris" at http://stephentrainor.com/tools/ (http://stephentrainor.com/tools/) shows both sun and moon azimuth in google maps as well as sunset, sunrise, moonset and moonrise times and the various twilight times.
I've been using it for several months now. It is an Adobe Air app. I have it on my laptop, useful for times without an internet connection.

Alan, thanks! That is exactly what I had in mind. I see it also is available for the iPhone.
Thanks again.

How about following the sun, moon and stars.

With Google Earth, you can see the position of the sun; very nice to plan for sunrises / sunsets.
