Title: LR3 & Importing Video Workflow
Post by: adsmitha on November 17, 2010, 10:21:27 am
Are folks consistently using LR3 to import DSLR video files (regardless of the file size)? Is there a benefit to doing this if I am ultimately going to edit in Final Cut?  In this respect, does anyone have suggestions on a workflow when I'm shooting mostly video (on a 7D and T2i) for an event and I want to keyword, import and backup and then reuse the card(s) -- that is, suggestions beyond the obvious?

Thanks.

Yes, though in my case these are videos from compact & mirrorless systems (e.g., Canon S90, Sony NEX-5), as opposed to SLR videos. I mostly import the videos for the purposes of organization (keywording, ratings, collections, etc.). Metadata presets work just as well for videos as they do for stills.
