In my camera club, we profiled our projector/screen combo using our club's Win7 computer and a Colormunki. We have what I would consider at least very good results in terms of color accuracy, white balance and neutral grayscale.
Is the profile also computer-dependent, or could somebody take a copy of the profile and use it in Photoshop on a different computer, the same as any printer/paper profile, to soft proof on the monitor and get an idea of how the image will look when projected? People at X-Rite have indicated that it would not work because the specific computer/video card is part of the equation.
