Title: Yosemite Sanctuary by William Neill
Post by: bruce-first on October 02, 2010, 02:45:44 am
All images in this article are listed as having been taken at f5.6. This seems unlikely to me. Am I correct?

f/5.6 is the maximum aperture of the lens, which is often important in identifying the exact model used--although not often important in making similar pictures.  The pictures with both near and far objects sharp are almost certainly at smaller apertures for greater depth of field (even though large format cameras can use tilts to tilt the plane of focus, it's still a plane, not a surface that will wrap around all different heights of near and far objects).
