Title: Screen Resolution - Detail?

Will a higher resolution monitor show more detail of a photograph, or just have the ability to show the photograph at a larger size.

For example - will a resolution of 1280 x 1084 displaying a photo at 100% show less image detail compared to a 1920 x 1200 displaying the same image at 100%

At the same magnification, the 1920 x 1200 will display a larger portion of the photograph, but that is all.
