Title: Question about Canon HF200 and external microphone
Post by: Robert Roaldi on September 03, 2010, 11:12:31 am
This may be a dumb question, but I haven't had much joy finding anything on the net about it.

The manual for the Canon HF200 camcorder calls for a condenser type external microphone. I happen to have a Sony 220 mic, which is listed as dynamic type in the specs I see, and it works just fine with the camera. Why is that?

Does that mic model just happen to put out a high enough signal for this cam's input and I got lucky? Is the manual wrong?

Btw, this mic also worked fine on a Canon miniDV camcorder I used to have (Elura 100, I think) and a Panasonic GS-250.

Thanks.
