Title: Canon IR remote release

buried between the lens and the handgrip, the remote release sensor has a very small angle of acceptance

i want to take wide-angle shots without myself in the image -- what's the best solution?

What's wrong with the wired release?

cord isn't long enough and a long cord would get in the way
