When you set the camera to the Adobe RGB colour space it uses underscore as the first character in the file name. This is detailed in the user manual.

Hi Guys
I've just bought my first Canon a 350D here in the Uk. Xt in the USA. When I take pictures the camera numbers the images IMG_0001 and then goes onto _MG_0002 and then _MG_0003 and so on. I can never get the second image onwards to read IMG, it replaces the I with a _ I've tried different cards but never get a run of IMG's it will only do it on the first image. Sometimes I even get the first image that starts with a _MG_0001 rather than IMG_0001. Is this normal or is there a way round this? The reason that I'm asking is that I've set up the camera to number the images continuously so that I don't get double numbers and IMG reads better than _MG.
Many Thanks

Thank you for this. I can't seen anything in my manual (UK) about file numbering other than you get the choice of continuous file numbers or to reset for each time a card is used.
Thank you
