Title: Will RRS custom brackets for the 10D fit the 20D?

Smart money says "no way Jose." My guess is they are already working on a 20D L Bracket (with and without the grip).

Same deal with 3rd-party RAW convertors (PS CS and C1). The 20D convertors are "in the works."[/font]

That's are there is to do, except wait. And, get the 20D.[/font]

[font color=\'#000000\']And my guess is that since the 20D is smaller, it will probably fit, but the front lip won't quite hit the body and the side relief holes might not be in the right position to pass the cable release through. But it may very well be usable, just tighten it down properly so it doesn't want to shift or pivot about the screw.[/font]

Does anyone know if this bracket or the other custom brackets for the 10D from RRS will fit the 20D? The RRS website does not show any useful info in this regard.[/font]

Post by: DavidB on September 10, 2004, 01:23:56 am: [font color=\'#000000\']My 20D is on order, and I'm sure when they become available I'll get a custom bracket. I've got custom plates on my D30 & 10D, and will probably go for an L bracket with the 20D (plus grip).

However, I also have a Wimberley P5 generic plate, which really does a good job on all the bodies I've tried it on. This way I can use the 20D with my A-S gear immediately I receive it (with or without grip) and when I get an L bracket for the 20D+grip I'll be able to use the P5 on those rare occasions when I work without the grip without investing money in a custom plate which I would rarely use.

The P5 is a great product. Not quite the same as a custom bracket, but worth a look![/font]
