Title: Scope in prolonged extreme cold
Post by: Nill Toulme on August 13, 2010, 09:56:03 am
This question really pertains to a nice Nikon spotting scope, but I assume the answer would be no different with respect to fine lenses generally.  Is it OK to leave them in prolonged extreme cold?  By this I mean the sort of conditions they would face if left tucked away in a winterized cabin outside Yellowstone ... i.e., below zero November to March, and occasionally 25 to 50 below.
