I can't give you an answer, but when I have this type of question I look through the regional forum archieves from previous years at Nature Photographers (http://www.naturephotographers.net/)

I'm going on anther tour of the southwest from Sept 22 to Oct 9.
I've tried to schedule my dates according to what i think will be the peak times for fall colurs in yellowstone and Grand teton (based on previous posts in Luminous Landscape forums), as well as for when I've got my pass for the Wave booked.
Are there any areas in Moab, that are there is an oppertunity to shoot fall colours as well?
Appreciate some feedback on whether these dates should be OK for being able to be at the parks for peak fall colours:
Yellowstone - Sept 22-25
Grand Teton - Sept 25-29
Moab - Sept 29-Oct 3
Monument Valley Oct 3-Oct 5
Page Oct 5-8

Moab is miles upon miles of desert with a few trees clinging to life on the edge... definitely not "fall colors" material. But Dead Horse Point and Canyonlands are beautiful desert scenery. If you go up the Colorado River from Moab there are some trees along the "La Sal Mountain Loop", but I don't know if they'd show much color, as I don't recall what type of trees they were.
Another source for Teton/Tellowstone information might be wyofoto.com, but your best bet would probably be to speak to the rangers at the parks.
