Like the black and white. My only thought was that #1 and 2 both look "busy." I would have liked to see less depth of field or more of a treatment like #3 which has a more of a focal point of interest.

I kind of like #1 the best, and I find myself wondering what it would look like in color. I agree that #2 is too busy. In #3 I don't care for the glare on the right. In all three shots I would prefer it if the lily pads had less debris on them.

This morning I made a colored version.
Here it is:

I still prefer #3 black and white. In the color version, I think it's the angle the picture was made at that throws me. In the black and white version, the areas of almost solid black seem to balance top and bottom. In the color version, there's just that big dark blob at the bottom which I think could have been minimized by a different angle. Having said all that, I will say I like the coloring of the lily flower itself.

I'm mostly with Shutterpup on your serie. #3 is very nice in its simplicity. The other two images are a bit on the busy side and the focus on the flower is not stong enough - at least compared to #3.

Yup ! Color sucks. My favourite is #3 bw as well.
But it needs cropping to square format such, that the center of the flower is in the center.
