Concerning these new combo cam units, ie,, 7d 5dii et al,
when usuing in video mode, do the auto focus function as in still mode. would you set your camera on servo and video as you would a moving subject, or do you use all AF and have to do all MF.

no where near, it is super slow, like 80s slow. focus manually, much faster, for any situation. learn to rack focus, a follow focus rig helps.

i am guesssing that using a crop camera in with a 600 and trying to track wildlife would be tough then, would that be a safe assumption? no birds in flight,, but wild life just moving around,,

well the first day i took the 7d out i went with my 600mm and 1.4x! it was shakey for sure and that was shooting video of him pearched. tracked well for in flight shots on AI Servo focus (stills).
