Hi,
What would look like your dream camera?
Here is a sketch I've done today of what would be mine.
[attachment=19889:new_camera.jpg]
Here is the beast:
-1 fully articulable LCD
-1 fixed LCD (yes 2 LCD, why not?)
-1 enormous digital viewfinder with 2MP resolution and intensity regulation
-MLU, but I think get rid of mirror would be nice.
-2 (I never understood why just one H.S) H.S for flash, mike and accesories
-1 ftp transfer engine integrated
-full manual controls via dedicated wheels
-true HD video capabilities at 24 - 30 - 60
for the basics...
Of course, at least 30MP resolution F.F CMOS
Indestructible, absolutely lightweight with massive use of carbon fibers and waterproof.
For the mount?....mmm, no idea, it looks a little bit like a Sony, so lets say Sony/Minolta mount.
Oh, and I forgot the most important: it will be cheeper than 3500! (with 3 years guaranteed)

Add to that list...
-Takes only good pictures.
-Let's me know I'm shooting trivial crap or hopeless cliches.
and on the practical side...
-Lets me write scripts to do things like complex HDR sequences, etc.

I want the one that comes with 3 adventurous, single young women of different ethnic backgrounds, as assistants.
And a good warranty.

The dream camera for the burdened and aging landscaper:
A lightweight EVIL fullframe. Aspect ratio 3:4, 27x36 mm, maybe 30x40 mm. Connection to iPhone replacing the screen, saving cost and weight. All controls manual. Live view. Histogram based on raw data. Well documented in-camera handling of raw data in DNG. Exposure bracketing with number and interval freely choosable by user (Zero noise). Same with focus bracketing at pre-selected distances in rapid succession. Choice of combining these two. Automatic White Balance, but can do without AF and AE.
A line of Zeiss lenses with max aperture f/5.6 - no large apertures needed any more, since the brightness of the screen is independent of the physical aperture, within wide limits.
An assistant to carry the outfit including the non-photo daypack, needn't be neither female nor ethnic.
Good light! - Hening.
