I liked the article. The principals reminded me of the expression “Don’t sweat the petty things and don’t pet the sweaty things.”

I remember some well known software companies years that abandoned r&d and turned to law suites instead. The lack of foreword progress appeared to damage the companies far more than those who sought to take their intellectual property without reimbursement.
