Nice! This is just a stunning image. I wouldn't change anything.

I like it. Nice lines. I might crop a little tighter.

A good case can be made for either version, but right now I'm leaning toward the cropped version. The people don't really add much to the image, which is very nice.

Jeremy, I like it. It's a good abstraction. I don't agree that it should be cropped. I do think a bit of work with curves in Photoshop to bring up the people at the base is in order. Here's a quick mod, though the job really needs to be done with the original raw rather than with a small jpeg.

I'm like Eric, both versions are very good.

Of course I suggested I liked the cropped version better than the original just to rattle Russ's cage.

Actually, the way he brought out the people is a big improvement, IMHO.

Thanks, all. I think a little cropping is OK, but the crop k suggested is too tight for me: I like to see the ground. Russ, I agree you've improved it!

As to quality, alas, I took this, with my first digicam (a Konica-Minolta A2) a few years ago, before I learned of the virtues of raw. It's a jpeg and it's already pretty heavily cropped (down to about 4MP). I've no doubt I'll revisit Sydney in the next few years, so I'll re-take it properly then.

I like it with the people in it - it gives a sense of "bigness" to the structures.  Very nice.

Nope, I'd stick with the first version and keep the people dark; they are just there to give it scale and not to intrude; you lose something of the strength of the shot and the focus on the curves if you introduce more detail into the foreground and lighten it up. Let the curves hold sway; they constitute the important feature, as the title plainly indicates. I think you got it right first time around.
