I have found that sometimes even with my film camera 1NRS that the focus appeared dead on but when I got the film back it was really bad.  I don't know why though.

If you go to My Webpage (http://www.cronusengineering.com) and click on links then click on the link for Ambers Birthday 2003 100 and 101 there are a whole bunch of picks I took over the weekend with the camera using a Canon 100mm f2.8 macro, 28mm f1.8 and the 70-200 f2.8.  I had only a few that were fuzzy.

I think it could just be the light contrast or the proximity of the subject or both that can cause problems.

Here is a picture I took with my 10D at my niece's birthday party.  I'll first post the uncropped image shot in raw at asa 100 with 550ex flash Canon 70-200 f2.8.

The first picture is the uncropped version, with nothing done to it.

I then wondered how this would do on enlarging to 24x36.  So I made minor adjustments using curves/color balance to warm slightly, the upsized it to 24X36 at 150dpi and mildly sharpened.   I Then cropped an 8X10 section out and printed it on my Epson 2200 using archival matt (with profile for paper/inks) and all I can say is OMG!  It was perfect.  Much better than I could ever do with film and more.  Not too mention you can almost make out my reflection in her eye.

I could even go to 30X40 with this.  Here is the cropped version of the 24X36 (still at 150dpi)
