Title: Phase one DF camera
Post by: woof75 on November 10, 2009, 09:40:48 am
I think I'm going to be using one for an upcoming job instead of my old trusty afd 1's , are there any bugs I should know about beforehand?

Have they shipped? I thought the ones being demoed are pre-production.

The first production cameras (25 units) are here in Death Valley being used on the PODAS workshop. No other production cameras are in user hands yet, though shipping starts this month.

I'd give them a few extra days to blow the sand out of it. (Insert sillly smiley face here).

No.  I think the sand will stay.
This is how Phase is implementing 'film grain' looks.

Death Valley sand is pretty coarse and will be a good representation for Kodachrome 200

Next month the team is heading to the fine gypsum sands of White sands National Monument to input their Velvia grain profiles

It's just as a spare, in case my old trusty snags a shutter or something, I'll definitely have a play with it though. Hopefully I won't have to use it in anger.

Yep, just checked my rental kit and it's there, along with the new 80mm LS lens, won't be taking the lens with me, it's a bit heavier than the standard lens and I'm flying with it so trying to keep weight down. I'll certainly have a look at it all though and report back.
