Hope it's okay if I post about this - if not, please feel free to delete it.
I do a little work for www.WeeklyPhotoComp.com (http://www.WeeklyPhotoComp.com), and seeing all the talented photographers on here I thought it might be alright to make everyone aware about the site. If you haven't heard of it before, the site is a weekly (bi-weekly at the moment, unfortunately) photography competition that is designed to give both amateurs and professionals an opportunity to submit and have their work showcased if selected by the judging panel.
Each entry costs US$2 and at the end of the week's run, a winner is announced and they receive half the entry fees. So if 500 people, then the winner would receive US$500. Those that make it into the top 50 also have their works displayed. We're trying to keep things as simple as possible while making it fun and exciting, as well as establishing links in the photography community and making others aware of your work. So if your photo makes it into the top 50, you will be able to advertise your website alongside it and state if the photo is available for sale.
Terms & Conditions, as well as an FAQ can be found on the site. Any photos submitted will not be distributed except for display on the site if they make the top 50 - and let me tell you, I have just been amazed at many of the entries and it really makes me excited for what I might see in the future.
I hope some of you guys on here will consider giving the site a chance, and I look forward to seeing if your entries make it!
