Title: New Leaf Forum Open
Post by: Williamson Images on November 02, 2009, 10:40:19 pm
I didn't see this announced in a previous thread so I thought I would bring it to the LL forum's attention.

A new user forum is now open at Leaf's new site.

http://forum.leaf-photography.com/ (http://forum.leaf-photography.com/)

You have to sign up to post.  It was in the "under construction" mode for quite some time.  Hopefully it will also be a good source of information and provide help from users and the designers.

Has anyone tried to register for the forum and actually received the activation email? Still waiting for the email...keep checking spam in case yahoo filters the email out.

So all the useful info from the previous Leaf forum is gone?

Boneheads! Archive the older forum and make it available to read.

Unfortunately this was not possible,

Agree with all your points but, as noted by Yair, it was not possible.

Perhaps, the contents of the old forum are not the intellectual property of the NewLeaf operation.

Doesn't the intellectual property remain with those  who write contributions?!?!

Not necessarily.  You have to  check the terms and conditions for everything you sign up for these days.

By entering many contests and using some social networking sites you agree to transfer copyright for all posted/hosted material.

Yair,

I like Leaf products., just not the less-than-wise decisions made by Leaf, but many companies fall under that. Information on the web is becoming a joke, because it's searchable, always there, we take it for granted, we learn from it, we give it to other people, and it only requires one person somewhere, somehow to pull the plug on worthwhile information that will never again be accessible. (not directed to you per se)

Now for every person who buys an older Leaf back, you have eliminated a 24hr Q&A area which Leaf and dealers will have to spend more time re-answering the same questions about every legacy product. Lost information, lost time.
yes, that would be me who just picked up a Valeo 11 and 17wi for our school.... to add to our ancient (in digital time) Valeo 6. At least I know something about leaf capture software, but I'm now interested in the live view feature, dongle, and pros/cons of either back and the different digital lenses I might be able use from earlier generations. I realize the busy professionals might have some time to answer questions here, but I'd prefer to ask intelligent questions... it gets me closer to good replies. A real bummer(x2).
