Title: DSLR as a webcam
Post by: Ed Bacon on October 15, 2009, 11:46:07 am
Last weekend I attended my niece's wedding. Her grandmother, cousin and the flower girl all got stuck at an airport and could not attend the wedding in person. We put a netbook in the first pew, used it's built-in webcam, a wireless connection to the churh's router and the Internet and used Skype to "broadcast" (narrow-cast?) the ceremony. The grand mama saw and heard it all; only the flower girl missed her part. Now my question ... I was wondering if would be possible to use my 5D Mark II (or any DSL w/ a video output) to provide the signal to Skype. Any ideas on how to make the connections?
